The Venus de Milo arrived at the Louvre in 1821 and immediately became one of the most famous sculptures in the world: an ancient Greek depiction of Aphrodite carved around 150 BC by Alexandros of Antioch. She lost her arms somewhere in the intervening millennia. She does not need them.
