In 1896, Alphonse Mucha created the poster for the 20th exhibition of the Salon des Cent and cemented a visual language that the world is still borrowing from. Organic lines, a luminous central figure, ornate botanical detail: Art Nouveau at its most fully realized. The kind of design that still looks like the future.
